The Arco lamp was designed by Achille Castiglioni and Pier Giacomo Castiglionii for Flos in 1962. The Arco lamp is a floor lamp which provides direct light and satisfies the request of direct illumination without the need to fix it to the ceiling. Most rooms have the electrical output for a ceiling lamp right in the middle of the ceiling, but most dining tables are not placed in the middle of a room. Achille Castiglioni was unhappy because of the cable going from the output to the position where the pendant lamp is fixed to illuminate the table. True to original - Hand cut and polished 136lb Solid Italian White Carrara Marble Base; true to original - 2 ½" circumference hole bored completely though the marble base; true to original the distance from the center of the bored hole to top of marble base is 5".

Solid, slightly brushed Pivoting Stainless Steel hood measures 12.5" circumference at the light opening, its widest point; Powder coated soft white reflective hood interior; 126 individual holes in aluminum heat diffuser located at the top of the hood.

Black electric cord with step foot button for easy on and off operation; felt floor protector pre-attached; Type A 60 Watt Bulb required. Not included.
